Diffraction in practice
Waves of Interference in
Early Childhood Education
Vicky Roy
"Diffractions are attuned to differences - differences that our knowledge-making practices make and the effects they have on the world" (Barad, 2007, p. 72).
I am grateful to live, walk, work, think and study in Ahaswinis, traditional territory of the
Hupacasath First Nation.
I am a white settler, and a member of the
Hupacasath family through marriage.
I have particular obligations to my Indigenous husband and children to unsettle colonial narratives in education, and to make space in educational systems for Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
This website was created as the graduating project representing the culmination of my
Masters in Education,
Early Childhood Education Degree
at the University of British Columbia.
